The Founder Effect - Part Three
A mixed-media figurative experiment.
A weakened congregation has no choice but to continue a pilgrimage for which there is no known destination. New laws are established separating mothers and fathers from their young. Refuting the word of their oppressor will be met with harsh punishment and so the flock moves to congregate only under cover of night.
In this piece, the flock is seen consoling one another, grieving the loss of its youngest, Abraham. There shall be no greater punishment than this for praying in public or befriending one caught doing so.
And when they were done, one man stepped forward and pronounced, "My friends, even in these darkest of times, hope shines. The brightest star of them all will soon be among us. A new king will lead us to a happiness so immense and with such authority, no living man could dare challenge Him."
